Pain & Gain (2013) Film Review

My review of Michael Bay’s newest feature, the raucous true-crime satire PAIN & GAIN, starring Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Mackie, and Dwayne Johnson (formerly known as The Rock.) Bay’s film, beyond all odds, is compulsively amusing and watchable, with an impressive neon color palette and devoted performances by the three leads and supporting players, including Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Ken Jeong, and Rebel Wilson. Arguably the best film Bay has ever made, PAIN & GAIN is still vile and repulsive, and not worth the cost of viewership, except for, perhaps, critics. As always, your thoughts and comments appreciated below, especially from those who have seen more of Michael Bay’s films than I.
